200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training School in Rishikesh, India

We are registered with the Yoga Alliance, USA, and provide 200 hours of hatha yoga teacher training in the ancient town of Rishikesh in India. ‘Hatha’, in Sanskrit means ‘force’ and thus hatha yoga refers to a system of physical techniques. The origin of hatha yoga can be traced back to at least the 1st Century as is evident from certain Hindu and Buddhist scripts. Contrary to the belief that Hatha yoga is merely a sophisticated physical exercise system, one must understand that it extends well beyond that. It integrates ideas of ethics, diet, cleansing, pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, and a system for the spiritual development of the yogi. Here at Hatha Yoga Rishikesh, we profoundly believe and practice this ideology and train our disciples to practice hatha yoga holistically.

The 200-hour Hatha yoga teacher training course welcomes yoga practitioners of all levels. We provide customized training, which accommodates students right from beginner level to the most advanced practitioners. Our 200-hour hatha yoga teacher-training course is a perfect blend of theory and practice where the students learn the very essence of this ancient practice. The course enables our disciples to equip themselves with the necessary knowledge and confidence needed to propagate this science further to their students at later stages.

As the meaning implies, a lot of strength and discipline is required to unify opposing forces, bringing together body and soul. Although other yoga techniques and hatha yoga have a lot in common, the proponents of hatha yoga believed that controlling the body and mind could be more easily achieved through vigorous physical practice. Our Yoga Teacher Training Course approaches Hatha Yoga traditionally as described in the ancient text the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, which is the most influential surviving text on hatha yoga. The teaching of Hatha yoga during our 200-hour teacher-training course involves the performance of certain Asanas which are held for an extended period whilst practicing deep breathing techniques. The course also includes kriyas (cleansing practices), pranayama (breathwork), meditation, and philosophy. It is said that the best way to teach is from your own experience.

Hatha Yoga Rishikesh provides a 200-hour Hatha yoga teacher training course in a tranquil environment, which will rejuvenate your mind and soul as you master this ancient art of hatha yoga. We are dedicated to the growth of our students and to eventually spreading this knowledge across the globe in its authentic taste. Upon completion of the program, trainees will have the privilege and fulfillment of bringing this knowledge to many more people.

We have limited seats for the 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Course because our focus is on quality not quantity and the student will acquire the full knowledge of yoga and spiritual practice of all the Hatha and Ashtanga Asanas. After completion of the 200-hour Hatha yoga teacher training course, students will get the certificate which is registered with Yoga Alliance-USA and that certificate will be internationally valid. At the end of the course not only you would have adopted a healthy lifestyle but you would also be fit to show others this path by becoming a skilled yoga teacher or trainer.

200 Hour YTTC Syllabus/Daily Schedule

Course Syllabus: 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course

Asanas are yoga postures and the physical movements of yoga practice and, in combination with pranayama or breathing techniques constitute the style of yoga referred to as Hatha yoga. Traditionally asanas are positions, which make us fit and healthy in all the way. In the yoga sutra, Patanjali describes asana as a “firm, comfortable posture”, referring specifically to the seated posture, most basic of all the asanas. Normally asanas will be held for an average of two or three minutes. Besides being held steadily they should also be held comfortably. No pain should be experienced while holding the posture or in the hours or days that follow. Hindu Shastras tell us of 84 lakhs asanas. A lakh being equal to 100,000, this brings the number of yoga postures to 8,400,000.
